Academics is and will continue to be our primary focus at Lighthouse Christian School, as we strive to uphold high standards. We pay tribute to our educators who have the requisite knowledge, skills and experience to reach and maintain the academic expectations that we set for ourselves.
Educare
6 months - 5 years
Educare simply means to educate and care. It is primarily, the early childhood development phase of education (ECD). There is the need for working parents and guardians to place their trust in persons to look after their children, while they are at work or running other errands during the day. Looking after children is a huge responsibility, one that not everyone is equipped to do, considering the fact that the first of years of a child’s life has a profound effect on the rest of his or her life.
At Lighthouse, we proud ourselves with qualified ECD practitioners who do not only look after our tots, but also prepare them progressively by applying a structured program based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
Our educare program is tailor suited for each and every learner in a safe, secure and serene environment to enhance the complete physical, psychological and intellectual development of our educare learners.
Preparatory School
GRADE R - GRADE 3
Our preparatory school comprises the foundation phase, namely Grade R to Grade 3.
Lighthouse’ approach to education is holistic – focusing on the development of learners’ intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially, thereby providing an enriching educational experience; a stimulating environment and allowing learners to fully explore their abilities and talents as they progress from Grade R level through Grade 3.
Our aim is to develop the potential of all our learners through our academic, sport, culture, leadership and community engagement offerings. We provide an enlightened and stimulating environment, where learners are encouraged to think critically and analytically. This empowers our learners, making them “free to explore and develop” to their full potential across all disciplines at this critical phase of education.
Primary School
GRADE 4 - GRADE 7
Our Primary School consists of the intermediate phase, catering for learners from Grade 4 to Grade 7.
We provide a conducive and intellectually stimulating environment, where every learner is equipped to develop up to their full potential.
We create the needed opportunities for our learners to explore with the aim of discovering their strengths, abilities and capabilities, and at the same time encouraging them to acknowledge their weakness and vulnerabilities, to transcend them as the progress in this phase.
High School
GRADE 8 - GRADE 12
Our High School programmes cater for learners at the Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Phase (FET Phase).
At Lighthouse Christian School, we equip learners with the necessary skills, knowledge, attitudes and competencies to be able to develop learners’ ability for inquiry, critical thinking and rational judgement.
The provision of opportunities for our learners to develop mentally, socially, morally, physically and spiritually is key in our approach to instruction at this level of education.
We pride ourselves with highly qualified teaching staff, who are always up to the task in our quest to build a firm foundation for further education and training in our learners.
